The Wooden Rune ("we," "us," "the site") is a free rune reading tool operated from Liberty Hill, Texas. We take your privacy seriously and want you to understand exactly what data we do and do not collect.

Information We Do Not Collect

The Wooden Rune does not require an account, login, or registration. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, payment information, or any other personally identifiable information. Your rune readings, questions, and saved readings are stored entirely in your browser using localStorage and are never transmitted to our servers or any third party.

Information We May Collect

If we add analytics in the future (such as Google Analytics or a privacy-focused alternative), we may collect anonymous, aggregated usage data including pages visited, approximate geographic region, device type, browser type, and referring URLs. This data cannot identify you personally. If and when analytics are added, this policy will be updated to reflect the specific service used.

Cookies

The Wooden Rune does not currently set any cookies. If third-party services are added in the future (such as analytics or embedded content), they may set their own cookies. This policy will be updated accordingly.

Local Storage

The site uses your browser's localStorage to save rune readings locally on your device if you choose to use the save feature. This data never leaves your browser. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings or by deleting individual readings in the Saved Readings panel.

Shared Reading Links

If you share a reading using the share feature, the rune data is encoded directly into the URL. Anyone who receives that link can view the reading. No data is stored on our servers as part of this process. Be mindful that shared links may contain the question you entered, which is visible in the URL.

Third-Party Links

The site may contain links to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites.

Children's Privacy

The Wooden Rune is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "last updated" date.
